Lysette Boucher Castel holds a Ph.D. in Economics and a postgraduate diploma in Demography.
In parallel with her academic career as a Professor of Economics at the University of Quebec she developed her activity as consultant in interdisciplinary studies involving health, nutrition, poverty and the analysis of social structure in stressed environments. Lysette has led numerous studies in Africa and the Middle East and specializes in bottom-up processes of assessment and change using both advanced quantitative analysis and qualitative methods involving community participation.
