The Link NCA was carried out in four target villages in Isiolo on three livelihood groups: agro-pastoral, pastoral, and charcoal-linked activities.  The county of Isiolo is located on the arid and semi-arid lands in Kenya. Despite adjustments to operational programs as a result of regular quantitative surveys, the prevalence of acute and chronic malnutrition remains at around 10% and 20% respectively.

The results show that the high rate of child morbidity is linked to:

Inappropriate access to drinking water for household use,

Difficult access to appropriate food for their age, for example, milk during the dry season,

Too much work given to women caused by recurrent droughts, affecting the maternal health and care of young infants.
